Charlotte Meilaender graduated from Genesee Dance Theatre School, where she trained for five years and was a founding member of Genesee Dance Theatre’s student company. Originally from upstate New York, she has also trained at acclaimed international ballet schools such as Masters of Ballet Academy in London, England, and the Vaganova Academy summer program in St. Petersburg, Russia. She holds a BFA in Dance from Mercyhurst University.
Charlotte has performed both classical and contemporary repertoire with the Mercyhurst University Dance Department and Genesee Dance Theatre, and has choreographed for both stage and screen. Her performing credits include Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and Paquita, as well as original works by Jeffrey Rockland and Noelle Partusch. Most recently she appeared alongside The International American Ballet in their spring gala, and currently holds a position as a company member with Ballet Ariel.
Charlotte has taught at Genesee Dance Theatre School, as well as joining the faculty of Houghton Academy, an international boarding and day school in western New York. Here, she taught ballet, jazz, and contemporary to beginners, as well as teaching dance film to high school students. As a teacher, Charlotte is passionate about fostering individuality and creative growth in her students within the discipline of dance.
