Nutcracker Auditions

Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Pre-registration is required. Please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to your audition class time. Parents/guardians of youth dancers are asked to come into the building with their dancers to check them in and out. Your Nutcracker non-professional promotional photoshoot will be available at check in.

Audition Schedule

  • 1:00–4:00 PM | Young dancers (ages 6+, no pointe)
  • 2:00–5:30 PM | Teen–Adult dancers (pointe or no pointe are both welcome)
  • 4:00–7:00 PM | Adult community dancers (all experience levels welcome!)

Nutcracker for Adult Students

Audition Required!

CCD holds annual Nutcracker auditions for adult students.

Participation Requirements

  • Enrolled in at least two classes per week, one of which must be ballet.
  • Attend at least 80% of classes

Nutcracker Summer Class Requirement

  • Elementary Levels from 2025 – 2026: 2 Weeks minimum summer intensive training.
    (Students who fulfill this requirement will be guaranteed at least two roles in the Nutcracker)

  • Intermediate Levels 2025 – 2026: 3 Weeks minimum summer intensive training.
    (Students who fulfill this requirement will be guaranteed at least three roles in the Nutcracker)

  • Advanced Levels from 2025 – 2026: 4 Weeks minimum summer intensive training.
    (Students who fulfill this requirement will be guaranteed at least three roles in the Nutcracker)

Non-CCD Student Participation

For dancers ages 6 through adult

Dance in one of Colorado’s most beloved holiday traditions—a dazzling, inclusive production featuring professional guest artists and a reimagined, culturally authentic Act II.

Rehearsals Begin September 6, 2025

Saturdays | 2:00–7:00 PM (not all dancers called each week)

Mandatory Production Dates

  • 11/15, 11/22, 12/6 | Rehearsals 2:00–7:00 PM
  • 12/8–12/14 | Weekday rehearsals at 4:30 PM + shows at Parsons Theatre (12/11–12/14)
  • 12/17–12/21 | Weekday rehearsals at 4:30 PM + shows at Pinnacle Event Center (12/19–12/21)

Participation Fee: $200 

Includes professional photos and videos from the performances!
