About the Season

CCD’s 27th annual production of The Nutcracker boasts world-famous guest stars, in addition to gorgeous sets and costumes. With over 60 students in the production, this exuberant production will bring joy to your holidays!

What happens when you mash the creativity of two CCD groups together into one masterful collaborative performance? Our adult dance company, DanceFound, meets our Young Choreographers Showcase to provide an evening of scintillating original work across virtually every conceivable style of dance. Masterfully performed by multiple generations of CCD dancers, this first-ever collaboration promises to thrill with over a dozen world premieres.

Step into an enchanted, heart-warming retelling of this centuries-old tale, with a sumptuous new production choreographed by world-renowned choreographer Dominic Walsh. Spanning both classical and contemporary styles of ballet, this revolutionary approach to a classic story explores poignant themes of hope, courage, and survival as it dives deep into not only the magic of the tale, but the very human factors that find its characters struggling to navigate a challenging, morally ambivalent world. CCD’s Summer Intensive training programs are renowned for providing pre- and early professional dancers with the opportunity to present innovative and challenging work to a community audience through our Summer Moving Project. This one-of-a-kind performance gives audience members the chance to witness the emergence of the next generation of great American dancers in the intimate environs of the Broomfield Auditorium.
