Pre-Professional Training Program
About Pre-Professional Dance
For Dancers Ages 15 to 22
Performers enrolled in Emerge Youth Ensemble who are considering a professional career in ballet or contemporary dance are encouraged to enroll in our Pre-Professional Training Program (PPTP).
The comprehensive weekly training schedule for PPTP will require the mental strength, technical proficiency and versatility that a professional performance career demands. Curriculum will be tailored to each student’s individual needs through weekly private lessons, working as a soloist, audition preparation, somatic awareness and tools for navigating a career in dance.
Students will be expected to perform in The Nutcracker as well as Denver Ballet Guild and/or Youth America Grand Prix.
The Pre-Professional Training Program is open to dancers aged 15-22. Admission to the program is on a case by case basis. Please reach out to info@ccdance.org if you are interested in joining this program.

Training Requirements
Approximately 25-30 hours of training and rehearsal hours per week
Daytime Programs
- Ballet Technique Classes
- Private Lessons
- Contemporary Partnering Classes
- Anatomy for Dancers
- Dance History
- Navigate: Career Advising for Dancers
- Free or discounted classes with local professional dance companies
Evening Programs
- Four Ballet Technique classes
- Three Pointe Classes or Power/Flight/Turns
- Variations
- Modern Technique Class
- Contemporary Class
- Either Tap, Jazz or Conditioning
- Composition Class
- Up to five rehearsal hours for The Nutcracker in the Fall Session
- Up to six rehearsal hours with Emerge Dance Collective
*Colorado Conservatory of Dance will assist in communication with academic school administrators, counselors and teachers for students to attend at least three week-day training slots between 1:30-4pm.
