2023 LEGENDS OF DANCE HONOREES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 29, 2023

DENVER — The Dance Archive at the University of Denver is pleased to announce our 2023 Legends of Dance honorees. Honorees will give oral history interviews and be recognized at an awards presentation in October.

The honorees are:
Amy Anderson
Patricia Hoffman
Jesse Manno
Chuck Palmer
Damien Patterson
Julia Wilkinson Manley

“This year’s honorees represent the diversity of the Colorado dance community including dance performers, dance educators, music composers/accompanists for dance, dance medicine specialists, and community dance centers. We are proud to honor those who found ways to create, share and support dance in Colorado this past year.” – Joan Brown, Board President, chair of Legends of Dance Committee.

Established in 2004, the annual Legends of Dance has honored individuals or organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to dance in our state. 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of Legends of Dance and over 100 individuals or organizations have been honored. To preserve the history of dance in Colorado, a video interview is recorded with each honoree. This video and any other donated archival material is placed in The Dance Archive available to researchers, teachers and students.

Past interviews are available online in our digital repository at specialcollections.du.edu.
